Did I solve this correctly? Solve the inequality. 8x-4>12.

You solve it by taking -4 to the other side where it will be 8x=12+4. Continue solving it by adding 12 to 4 to be 16, and the equation being 8x=16. Now, you'll have to divide both figures by 8 so as to get x, which will be x=2.

Because it's an INEQUALITY. Therefor there is no equal sign. :)

To answer your question, no you did not answer it correctly. You have to simplify the equation which means getting 'x' by itself. Knowing that you must add '4' to both sides to get 8x>16. Then to finally get 'x' by itself divide '8' from both sides. You will then find that x>2.
