If I have 3 foreign language credits in sign language and 2 in French, what will colleges think?

I know not all colleges accept sign language (ASL) as a foreign language, but my mom says I have to take a third year of French to get accepted to a good school! I'm pretty bad and don't want to, what do you think?

Most colleges like it when you commit to a language & take 3 years of it. But if you do super awesome in the core subjects like math or english, I don't see how a year of language would make a huge difference. It looks good on an application, but it doesn't determine whether you get in or not.

The more foreign language classes you take, the better. Period. The world is becoming smaller every day and knowing a foreign language is an absolutely necessary skill these days, whether you are college-hunting or job-hunting.
