Practice makes perfect. I would develop a stronger foundation in math by starting at the basics and then building your knowledge on top of that. So, start reviewing and practice the basics first. So begin with studying basic math then proceeding with algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics. If you are in high school, they usually have you take Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, and other maths if you decide to advance. Review books on these. And take 15 minutes of each day to work on a problem or section in these books.
Practice the questions and get a friend to help out or a tutor to help out. Independent work is also important so try to only seek for assistance when you're completely lost and don't understand the question.
Some people are natually good at numbers, but if you're average you would have to study math often than you would like because it's like science, it's another language that if you don't speak it very often you will soon forget it. So, lots of practice problems, good teachers who actually care if you learn it and are not just there for a paycheck, good financial tools, and always look at the bigger picture. Don't just only use your calculator because it doesn't explain the process of getting the solution, it just works out the problem for you, thus you won't have a good understanding of it.

math can be a complicated subject, believe me i am not perfect at it either. Have u heard of the Mozart effect? It definetely helps. U should listen to classical music or soft jazz...But you can also be a person that can get distracted by noises easily, so the better thing to do is to find the most quiet place in your house, school, etc and study there. Don't fall behind and study every night. U should get a tutor also, i got a 100 on my test when i got a tutor. you are good at math it just means you need a little bit of help that's all... dont ever let anyone put you down:) aslo check out khan academy in youtube, this guy helps you with any type of math and any type of science. I aced my AP chem because of this guy!!!
