Because people don't HAVE to follow anyone.
They may choose to follow people who give good answers, or ask good questions, or for whatever reason.
To get more followers, I made a sign on cardboard, saying "Will work for followers" and I now have quite a few of them. I'm doing a lot of work thou. It's hard out here for a followee! :)
Patience is a virtue!
It takes more than a week. Just answer all of the questions that you know and make sure is thought out and easy to understand.
Hi Sicily! You are new, it takes time to build up followers.( it's not like FB) Be an active community member, ask good questions, give helpful answers,in time people will follow if they like what you have to say. You'll see!

First of all, don't put you email or any info on any website like you did on your profile ( just trying to save you from stalkers) secondly, I'm following you now, :D
Just answer questions seriously and people will follow you. But if it's a dumb question like "why are oranges orange?" than just answer with a stupid answer :D
