Who played the voice of kitt in knightrider?

we all know who played michael knight but who was kitt and why was he so camp?

The voice of KITT in Knight Rider was played by William Daniels. Another person partnered in playing the voice was Michael knight but he requested not to be credited for this role. Read more details at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knight_Rider_(1982_TV_series).
