My dog has a red bump in between her paw and she keeps licking it. It's not bleeding and it doesn't hurt her. Does anyone know what it is?

I would advice that you take your dog to the vet because only a vet can determine what that red swelling is and if it is harmful to the dog. It could be a harmful growth or just a swelling that will go away on its own. The vet will also be able to tell you if your dog is allergic to something so that it can be avoided.

If the dog has fur there and your dog is licking the fur, the fur turns red. It's a chemical in the saliva that causes this. This happened to my (cream colored) dog. Hope this helped!

It may be an interdigital cyst. My English Bull dog had them on front paws. Sorry to say it was years ago and can't remember what vet gave to treat them but they did get better not to return again. Light colored Bull dogs have tendency for such skin problems.

is your dog exposed to any plants with thorns? check the area and look for one. roses, cacti
blackberries, anything new to the environment, or any new place the dog might have been. check the area and remove any likely plants so it doesn't happen again if you find something in the dog's foot.

It's a chigger bite. Things will drive your dog bonkers! But it's just an insect bite, this too shall pass. If the dog won't leave it alone & you can hold it down long enough...put a dab of clear nail polish on the bite, it'll make the itch go away. =)
