If your piercing has become infected, it will become reddened and sore around it. It may also accumulate white or yellowish pus either inside of the piercing or in a pustule nearby. This may occur because the piercing is new or because you are allergic to the kind of metal in the earing/bodyring.
Clean the piercing with soap and warm water. You may also be recommended to use alcohol daily at the site for new piercings, but this can damage some jewelry. If you suspect the metal is at fault, try sterling silver, gold, or stainless steel in your jewelry. If the problem persists, go get it looked at.
