What's a good lotion for very dry, cracked hands?

In the winter, the wind and cold really dry out my hands, especially around the knuckles. Any recommendations for a really effective dry skin hand lotion that has worked for you? Non-greasy formula would be best.

I really like Jergen's Ultra Healing lotion, I use this on my hands every night before I go to bed and it prevents them from cracking in the Winter time. If your hands continue to crack (especially your knuckles) you can put vaseline on them and let it stay there over night, this should absolutely prevent any cacking.

Thanks! Do you wear gloves at night when you moisturize? I've always worried about getting gunky sheets from doing that.

If I just use the Jergen's then no I do not wear gloves but if my hands are extra dry (like if I just came back from skiing) and I put Vaseline on my hands then yes I wear gloves to make sure I don't get it on my sheets. you can use plastic loves because they're pretty loose and you can throw them away after.

I heart Kiehl's Ultimate Strength Hand Salve. It's super softening, non-greasy, and it lasts (unless you're washing your hands frequently--which is also something people tend to do more so in cold and flu season). I keep a big tube of it at my desk (which I happily share with anyone) so that I can reapply each time I wash my hands.

My family has always used Corn Huskers Lotion. It looks weird, but it works great for super dry winter hands and feet!

Aveeno, Lac-Hydrin and Cetaphil are all dermatology recommended and less expensive than high end products.

At night time before you go to bed or just in your spare time...put a whole bunch of vasiline on your hands. Then put gloves or some socks on your hands. The vasiline will moisturize your skin. If you do this regularly for about a week your hands will be baby soft! And you should continue to do it when you feel your hands are getting dry or just when you feel like it. When you take your gloves/socks off all of the vasiline will be saturated into your hands leaving them smooth. You can still use lotion during the day which I prefer lubridurm.
You can do this on your feet also. Your feet will be so soft!
You should try it. It really works.

Neotrogena has a hand cream called sweedish repair cream. It works wonders on my dry hands during the winter time and when they get bad from work

Jergens! I am an ICU RN and am constantly washing my hands or using the alcohol based hand sanitizer provided. At the end of the day my hands are in sad shape. I have found that Jergens works the best for me...

THE BEST solution for severly dry and cracked hands or feet is vaseline. Out it on your hands and put a pair of gloves on for the night. you will be amazed at the results. For your feet just put on a pair of socks. It is cheap, it works and comes off easily with soap and water the next morning. Try it, I have the sofest hands and feet around and i only do this once a week now.
