I have a question (in details) about Romney's stance on healthcare. Can anyone (particularly conservatives) help me?
In 2006 Gov. Romney signed healthcare legislation into law in Massachusetts. This legislation included an individual mandate. Since then Romney has consistently said that this was right for MA, but not for the nation. Why? Why was this right for citizens of one state, but wrong for citizens of all the other states? I get that a lot of people oppose the mandate, but why would he have ever supported it in ANY state, and then not support it for the rest of the nation? What's different about MA?
