why are teenage boys so difficult?

my son went out and bad weather came, so I called him to make sure he was ok, and he gets upset for me calling!

Not all boys are difficult. Some seem so because they think differently than you do. Try to see things from their point of view.

Hormones...maybe he thinks youre being over protective, or maybe he wants ta look cool in front of his friends. Talk to him bout it, find out whats up

Boys want to feel more independent and feel coddled if we call to check on them while they are away from home. This coming from a mother of three boys and imagine the conversation with their friends, "Was that your mommy on the phone, calling to see if you are alright?" It is embarrassing for boys.
