You can put anything you want. The tortilla is just like bread, but flat. You can use any meat & vegetables.

I prefer veggie burritos, so I'd say black, kidney, or pinto beans, shredded lettuce or cabbage, tomato salsa, black olives, red and green chiles. Maybe a little avocado.

Technically if it has beans it is a burrito. If not then it is a taco.

Well... no... in Arizona, if it is in a folded corn shell, it is a taco. If it is in a rolled flour shell, it is a burrito. Some places sell "soft tacos" which look like a taco but uses a soft flour shell that is folded. On the border, the three main types of traditional burritos I grew up with were bean, red chilli (with beef), and green chilli (with potatoes and shredded beef), but now you find flower tortillas rolled around anything you can get your gums around. I did notice that in New York when somebody says "taco," they mean both burritos and traditional tacos.

I like best: Fully cook up a batch of Shredded chicken, beef, pork, ground beef, even fish), season with McCormick Fajita or taco mix; follow directions (or home seasonings), add onion to sauté with the meat, drain, make up a bunch of burritos' wrapped in a wheat tortilla (found in the cooler at the grocery store, ie., Wegman's in Rochester NY), add layer of refried beans (canned without fat), black olives, Shredded Cheddar Cheese (optional), freeze it, for a quick meal...pop it in the microwave about 2 minutes (depending on your microwave), take out, and eat...or dress it up more by adding lettuce and plain yogurt (instead of sour cream, it's similar in taste, you can use a lot of it, and it's great for you!), add salsa (green or red type), add over OR in it. Add any ingredients like black olives, guacamole or avocado, shredded cheddar after micro waving. SIMPLE, HEALTHY, YUMMY, and CONVENIENT for a quick meal.
Note: best to add the salsa after freezing so it doesn’t get soggy when microwaved.
Great for taking to work, for after school meals made easy, etc…
Also…of course you do not need to freeze, it can go stove to table.

You gotta put some veggie to make it crunchy, like lettece, tomatoe, etc. Some DELICIOUS MEAT, like carnitas (yummy :P) chicken, beef, or some beef i've never heard of before. etc. some bean, that's optional, but i don't like beans.... some mexican rice makes it all good :). Probably some potato pieces in it, and canadian bacon is optional. Make sure their is juicy sauce in it! Make medium or large, or somehow X LARGE, and you have a perfect burrito :D.

Chorizo and egg. In a medium skillet cook chorizo first, then crack a couple of eggs into chorizo and cook until done. Fresh refried beans and cheese, if you like cheese. Fried potatoes and corned beef, cooked together. Finally; my favorite, green chili burritos. Cook stew meat with garlic powder, salt and a little pepper. Fry on medium-lowheat until tender, Drain grease. Add Bueno or Baca's frozen green chili a can of stewed tomatoes, simmer 5-10 minutes. Make a flour and water mixture (not thick) for some gravy. Slowly add to mixture, stir, and simmer 10-15 minutes until done. Note: the gravy will turn the mixture to a lighter color. This is natural. Good Luck.

you can buy any white fish and broil it with chilli powder, olive oil, cayenne pepper, lime juice, salt and pepper. chop onion, tomato, jalapeno, and fresh cilantro mix together well with a squeeze of lime juice. slice fresh avocado, shred lettuce, and some extra sharp cheddar cheese, buy a small can of salsa verde. Buy large burritos. first put the cheese, than the fish, then salsa verde, then avocado, followed by your homemade pico- di gallo, last the lettuce. wrap it all up tightly and enjoy. If you really want to you can add fresh bacon.
