To not violate the Sabbath he was placed first at the nearby family tomb of Joseph of Arimathea. Then his disciples stole the body, and placed it in Jesus's family tomb, which is now in Talpiot, Jerusalem, but back then was half way between Jerusalem and Bethlehem. A year later, according to the prevailing tradition of the time, the bones were placed in an ossuary bearing Jesus's name. The tomb and ossuary were discovered in 1980, but not identified at the time. The bones were taken form the ossuary and buried in a mass grave, and it is not known where. The ossuary is now with the Israel Antiquities Authority. Thy also found in the same tomb also the ossuaries of James the brother of Jesus, of Mary Magdalene, of Jose, and of Yehuda the son of Jesus. Their bones were handled the same way. The identification of the tomb as that of Jesus's was done only 20 some years later.
Read and know for yourself=============read==============And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand. (John 19:38-42 KJV)
