If judging others actually took effort and consideration, most people would abstain because it's human nature to be lazy and self-centered. One day I was walking down the street with my daughter and her class on a field trip and we saw a bunch of pro-lifers holding signs of mutilated fetuses. My daughter asked, "Mommy, why are those people holding those signs?" I told her the truth: "Sweetheart, they want you to vote Republican."
Judging others is in our nature but not out of our control. Living, stealing, cheating, and killing are also aspects of human nature, but descent, respectable people recognize these as wrong so they control such thoughts and actions.
Judging others comes natural to huma ns. it takes effort to NOT judge someone. Even though it's hard, it's worth the effort. You are taking how someone or something looks and putting a label on it or them. They have problems. You never know what they have going on in their life
It is natural to judge. You just have to put in the effort to think before you really do judge. If you don't know anything about the person or their situation, you have absolutely no right to judge them. For example, you see a teen walking down the street. Then you notice she is pregnant. What's the first thought that comes to mind? What if you found out that this girl had been raped and didn't want to have an abortion? You have to consider every possibility before you judge someone.
There's another lesson I learned which I love but we're going to use the word "label" instead of judge here: Nobody can label you unless you allow them to. You have to take away the labels you have in your own life before you can get over the labeling all around you.
