Why not? Many people find stuff like that offensive. Ask.com wants more people to be involved in asking/answering questions. Why would they want to discourage good ask.com citizens from coming here by allowing that?

13 year olds are allowed on this site. At 13 you're still a kid, so therefor kids are allowed on this site. And they block things like that because there are kids on this site.

But your age appropriate to swear at 13

If my 13 year old swore I'd put soap in their mouth. So they aren't age appropriate to swear at 13. Sorry to say.

Some people just don't like swear words, so it's better for everyone to just block them I guess.

As a 13 year old, I find no offense at all in these swears and stuff.
However, some 10 year olds sneak on here and that's one of the reasons they block swears/etc.

Hi there,

Not sure what age you may define a kid as, but the age is 13 and up here. The goal is to keep things clean so people from all walks of life can enjoy the site and learn something.

As an example, I am over the kid age and find profanity offensive and unnecessary. We want everyone to feel comfortable here. :)

So you think that for adults, it is ok to use swear words and inappropriate stuff !! Such things should not be used in case there are or there aren't any kids here.

I've argued with enough kids here to know that most kids swear here than most adults do. They block that stuff because it's just not needed when trying to answer someone's question.

No need to swear to answer any question, you only make yourself look silly.

If you have to give an answer that others would find offensive based on race, creed, sex, or religion, you obviously are no more mature than the 13 year olds on the site. If you can insert your opinion maturely and be able to still get your point across, I don't see why you would even need to swear.

It's the rules, simple as that. You can go drop F-bombs pretty much anywhere else you want to. There are few places that you can't swear at and this just so happens to be one of those places

I have this thing I like to call "Grandparent Mode", You wouldn't sit around cussin like a sailor in front of your Grandparents (unless they're sailors) :) So I turn on Grandparent Mode when the situation calls for it, and the rest of the time, well, people might wanna cover their ears :)

People shouldn't be swearing whether kids are allowed on ask.com or not. Adults aren't the only people who swear, immature kids do it all the time! Swear words are not allowed just incase little kids come here
