A couple of years. It hurt too much when the children went back home. So I had to stop.

When I was able to teach an individual with cognitive challenges to put their dirty laundry in the laundry bin instead of wearing the same clothes for days. I know it sounds silly but nobody thought that this person could be convinced to do this. They would take this persons dirty clothes from them while they were in the shower and it would really upset them. I asked them to stop and give me sometime to work with them. This person is now proud that they take their dirty laundry to the bin them self. It made me feel good because I was able to teach someone that nobody thought could learn.
