The resin is soluble in water and precipitated in methanol .again i dissolved it in water and add methanol. But it gave milky solution

the precipitation is in contact with air, it immediately absorb air and become rubbery (in its original state.)

Resins are solvent extracted yielding from an alcohol-soluble substance that is less dense, more sticky and liquid-like, called a Resinoid. The absorption of water by resins is a phenomenon of considerable importance since it is accompanied by dimensional changes. The further undesirable effect of absorbed water in acrylic resins is to reduce the tensile strength of the material. For more details, visit http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2635902/.
