Report as
I'm gonna leave this conversation I'm confused... Doesn't everyone have a birthday?
Report as
Yes a birthday is a beginning. God had no birthday. None that we know. He always was there. He is in my heart, and that is enough to make me happy. I hope you will have him in your heart one day! Maybe you should say a simple prayer and see if he comes into your heart too! It's a great feeling!

He's in my heart too... And I thought Christmas was his birthday...

That's jesus' birthday. Not God The father. He sent Jesus here on earth to teach us. God always was and always will be.

What is time? Who created
It? Why are there 60 seconds to a minute?
Why does time heal all wounds, yet in time these deteriorate?
Why do we age? Why does everything age? Why must we die, and
Not live on?

Time itself is deteriorating. It will run it's course. When it does, maybe then our minds can fathom things like "always been" and "always will be".
But till then, while we are in our short bubble of existence in this invention called "time", we will scratch our heads and pull out out hair trying to understand it.

What does your answer have to do with this persons question?
Report as
Thanks that's cute but doesn't answer my question at all
Report as
You are trying to
Fathom the infinite. You are trying to grasp the concept of a being with infinite power who's existence is infinite on both sides of our linear span of time.
If you can understand a world without time, you won't have to ask questions like this.

But until you understand them, asking these questions, will no doubt serve little to no purpose.
Report as
Uh?
Report as
Forget it. Your too busy playing the young and the desperate for shaggy haired boys than to put your
mind to work to understand your own question.
Report as
Uh well I hate admitting it but yea thats kinda true but no really I understand my question, and I understand everyone's answer but yours. Because it doesn't answer the question.

It's unbecoming of a lady to throw herself at any man. A lady should pursued. Never the pursuer.

Knowing that 2 plus 2 equals 4 is not the same as understanding why it does. Horses and dogs can be taught the former.
Report as
Ok yea I'm confused. Ok so I'm 13 so yes I like guys that's what what teenage girls do ok get over it. And that last thing you said made no sense
Report as
Liking boys and throwing yourself at them is much different.
Guys don't like a desperate girl.

Think about the last part of what I said. Think about what differences there are. I feel like I'm wasting my time here, so, be blessed, and think about what I said.
I could give you the tuna, but I'd rather teach you to fish.
Report as
Joelcourtneyfan it's about time. You are really asking about the creation of God at the beginning of time right? Once you see that He was there in the beginning of time it'll make sense. In the beginning was the Word, the Word was God and the Word was with God. John 1:1. Jesus is the Word. He has always been :) nothing and no one created Him. That's at least what I see there. Jake seems to be talking in riddles but he's making total sense. Just forgot to put it in simple terms :)
Report as
I'm not desperate or throwing myself at guys or anything like that. I think a guy is cute, I tell him. That's it. And ok maybe I'm a little young so i don't understand what your saying. It doesnt make sense to me, I asked about god and youre telling me about tuna.
Report as
Astridb, ok he may be making sense but I'm only 13 and I don't really understand what hes saying. But thanks for the help. I guess people believe he started differently. Depends on how you grew up and what you learned as a kid and stuff I guess:)
Report as
I suppose I do speak pictographically. Sesquipedalian at heart, don't you know.

Others here have put it simply enough for you however.

But try batting your eye lashes, or learn how to give "that smile" to let a guy know you're interested. Leave some mystery to it. To hurl yourself at a boy takes away from your grace and elegance.

Lol I almost gave another metaphor again.
I should make like a...erhem...I mean I should just leave.
Report as
Oh well thanks but um why are you talking about me throwing myself at a guy when you don't even know if I do that. You don't know me...
Report as
Your embarrassing display in his answer above.
Report as
What? I already said if a guy is cute I'll tell him. It's not an embarrassing display it's the truth. I'm not throwing myself at him or anything I just simply told him what I think. And telling him he's cute has NOTHING to do with you so just get out of my business. And I'm not the only one who tell him hes cute. There's this other girl that I was talking to on here that told him the same thing on another one of his answers. And other people talk to him on YouTube. And if you don't agree with what were doing then stop looking at our conversation. It's not like I'm actually desperate and trying to get him to like me because were on ask.com we dont know each other and I'm not trying to start anything with him I'm just being honest. Ok?
Report as
If you are going to start bring selective about who observes your behavior, or comments on it, best bet would be to keep off the Internet. I call it like I see it, as many do for me.
Report as
I dont get it, but whatever I'm leaving this conversation.

Although I hate to get a "thumbs down", I must answer this question from the perspective of my friends and I. Human beings created the concept of a god to explain things they could not otherwise explain . . . sorry, there is no god. If there were, would the news of the world be what it is?

I completely disagree, although I've heard that theory. Secular humanism, as I was told. But I believe in free will. Which would explain why bad things happen. God doesn't interfere. And things don't happen for a reason. But everyone is entitled to their opinions. Which is why, although I strongly disagree with you, I won't give it a thumbs down. I'll simply leave my reply and keep scrolling:?)

Thanks for your comment, PollyLove . . . Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinions. I actually am an active member of a Christian Church . . . they laughingly call me "the devil in their midst". They pray for me . . . of course, I simply accept this as their wishes for my well-being. People should help each other without a justification other than it is the right thing to do in a civil society. Ethical behavior should be rewarded (without a "moral" religious connotation).
Report as
Haha they always pray for the "misguided" ;)
I'm strict Roman Catholic, only without the traditional condemning belief of all those who aren't Christian lol. Does that make sense?
I see what you're saying. Good behavior should be instinct, not done with the afterlife consequences in mind.
Report as
i know what is the problem with most atheists. you are people with fantasies. you are too proud of yourselves to follow a set of commandments. they want absolute freedom to do whatever they want whenever they want, im sorry to say this but this is not how it works. if you dont want to believe in God, i rest my case but i must warn you about a day where they will be no way out for you and on that day you will be acountable for your deeds.
Report as
My dad had a poster , it said " I'd rather spend my life believing in god, then finding out there isn't,then not believing, and finding out there is ". I agree
Report as
That is pathetic evidence to the lack
Of a god.

I wouldn't believe the news outlets if they told me the sun was going to rise tomorrow, and that Tuesday comes after Monday.

According to you, because there us evil, therefore there is no God.

So because there is hungry people in Africa, there are no good people in this world.

If your daughter scrapes her knee riding her bike, she has no father.

If there is trouble in the middle east, there is no united states.

If there is darkness at night, then there is therefore no such thing as light in the morning.

I could go on all day with this ideology.

Only if yo have all the knowledge in the universe can you come up with such a conclusion. Do you know everything there is to know? Have you been deceived by the theory of evolution? There is no such thing as evolution. Evolution scientists now realising now know that evolution is false, so they fire scientists who believe in God! Shows that it is their only argument! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIZAAh_6OXg&feature=related

Report as
Not believing in god shows ignorance?

Ummmm

What ever you say because after all you are a CHRISTIAN and everyone knows you Christians are always right

Report as
Wrong. Not believing In God makes you a fool.

Believing that we are the product of random chance makes you ignorant.

Some of the biggest names in evolution have already swapped stories. Why do you think that is?
Darwin himself regretted making a rash theory public while "in his youth" as he put it.
Steven Hawkins admits that there was design to out universe (though he attributes it to an alien being, growing us here like a garden).

The only way to keep a sinking bout like evolution afloat is to patch the holes. Which they do periodically.
They change theories like they change their underwear.
For close to the same reasons at that.
Because after a while of picking at the cracks of evolution (pun intended), the fabric (more pun) of the theory itself begins to stink like excrement (final pun).

This change of drawers comes either as a complete overhaul of the theory, such as Steven Hawkins has done, or they simply tack on a few more million years to the original projected time frame for evolution. The farther back you go, the less likely it will be anyone can prove you wrong, right?

Diversion tactics.
Report as
True. Darwin admitted the folly of his own evolutionary theory. Sad that people still teach it to our kids as truth.

You say 100% truthful like you have evidence. If you were only non believing because you haven't seen a reason to believe that's one thing. But to be so stupid as to say "herp derp, 100% truthful!" shows us how close minded you are. Like you have seen every inch of the universe and have come back to inform us. Like you have delved into each dimension to inquire for a greater power.

You're probably some fat American bred atheist, never been out of your own country, joining the river of dead fish as they float downstream.

Oh yes and one last thing American bred atheist is hardly the case my entire family believes in god as well as most of my friends I just never bought the whole religious some force created everything and you be good and you get to live happily forever idea.
Report as
You will be the only one admitting it here. I have a good pair of eyes to see a world beyond random chance.
I see a perfect balance on earth that supports life like I see on no other planet anywhere. I have good ears to hear the instruction of those who lived long before me. And instead of mocking them as lunatic cave men cowering from thunder, I heed what they say, since those closer to the beginning of an event are a better witness than those who theorize on it with no insight.

I have a good mind, and it processes these things just fine. My good mind tells me that things don't just "fall into place" and become perfect. As I said in a previous post. If you saw a tree in the forest, carved into the shape of a planters peanut, would your mind tell you that it grew that way? Or would you rationalize it, and assume someone came by and carved it out with purpose and design?
I have a good mind.
The idiots can name themselves.

Along time ago people believed the world was flat
Along time ago people believed that earth was the center of the universe
Currently people believe in god

The bible describes the world as bring round. Modern day "Scientists" back then deduced through their studies (haha) that the earth was flat.
