Why do we need a brake in a vehicle, when we follow rules strictly. (other than to stop the vehicle). God created us and told us how to live in this world. Whether we are living following his rules strictly?. Answer is no. So, how to stop us its the age (similar to brake) made by God to stop all of us from our sins. So curing for aging is doing good things.

Actually yes there will be. I'm not an expert on the subject so I can't explain this really well. However I have heard and read interviews with scientists who research genetics. You grow old mostly because it's programmed into your DNA. They are working on ways to shut off certain genes which will eventually stop many diseases. Its believed they may be able to vastly slow down aging by altering or shutting off genes. I have heard credible scientists, not crackpots, claim that the first person who will live to 1000 has already been born. But it this a good thing? That's another question.
I read Odog's answer with interest...that there may credible science now saying that 1,000 years is feasible for someone alive now...
My perspective is not from credible science as such, it is more that the immensely intuitive people around Iowa here seem to be saying something like that...very long life spans very soon now...
The idea is that the human genome is already programmed for a lifespan of 900 years or so, and what is wearing down the body is all the fears and stresses we have assumed that are so unnatural to us. So we die much before our time. But that we are quickly proceeding to the kind of deep understanding that will help us bypass all those killer emotions and mindsets!
So Mike, keep doing those programs you love, follow the work of your heart, and who knows...maybe your 'old age' will turn out to be more graceful than you ever dreamed!
(Not sure I really believe all that, but I do accept the possibility.)
I believe in the two types of aging, chronological and physiological. Chronological aging is fixed, the other is up to us. My grandmother was still ballroom dancing and swimming laps up until the ripe ol' age of 96! Because of her young spirit and happy attitude, I never felt like I was hanging out with an old woman... just one of the girls.
Ray Kurzweil has written a book 'The Singularity is Near'. He believes we are fast approaching the time when we will be free of Biology and become, basically a machine. Then, we would never die - just change the spark plugs now and then.
Immortality is very scary indeed, as death gives all meaning to life. If you were going to live forever, why would you strive, marry, have kids? You have billions and billions of years to live!
