I like music when I'm in a mood--I have specific songs I listen to per each mood. I like to read also, it takes me to another world. Exercise releases endorphins and gives you a "natural high" so that might do the trick. Otherwise, it's pretty much on you to just find an activity you enjoy; an activity that you can get lost in. I strongly urge you to NOT take prescription benzodiazepines that are given for anxiety/panic disorders b/c they are very VERY addictive and sudden withdrawals can kill you. Good luck!
Hot yoga if you have a studio nearby. I have also found keeping your mind and hands busy at the same time works. So if you can knit or crochet while watching TV or listening to the radio your brain is pretty busy and it's easier then not to dwell on other thoughts.
