not necessarily, the confederate flag symbolizes the confederate states of america which attempted to succeed from the nation, (which Abraham Lincoln went to the revolutionary war for)

thank you, yes the civil war as I was handed down by family many documentations as a descendent of Abraham Lincoln on my paternal grandfathers side. (who was raised by descendants of the Booth family when his parents were killed in a car wreck!)and its secede--as in remove themselves from not succeed as in not fail.

the flag never was meant to represent slavery and still does not. it was permuted to that belief but was a flag of the confederate states and nothing more. as is our stars and stripes of the 50 states now. slavery was a travesty began by the tribes centuries ago when waring clans captured each other and traded for goods and services when ships came with what they wanted and needed. america just got the short end with what is now called the slave trade as far as blame goes. before african americans, it was the chinese people for railway workers, and the indians before them. before our continent, others before all of us. every continent had its slaves and racists. I don't think it will ever truly quit. I am from american indian descent, anglo saxon, norse and russian. I'm my own melting pot! the confederate flag to me is not a symbol of racism but was made to be, wrongly. I truly feel very few people even think any thing racist when they display a confederate flag. and if i were to, please know that I truly would not mean any thing remotely racist toward you or any other person of any race.

I think u can tell if the people flying the flag are racist by the area surrounding the home. Clues: the house is small, brick, has no grass and is littered with garbage. The couple who live there are cousins with 9 kids that don't seem quite right. There is a mean looking dog tied to a tree and the whole bunch of them can't form a complete sentene except for the " dawg."

I have one that my brother gave me because he was born in Georgia or whatever state it goes to. There's not a racist thought into that flag

I agree with the others. The confederate flag itself is not racist. It sometimes depends in who's interpreting it too.

Naww, it doesn't mean that you are racist. People are just proud of their southern heritage. Haters have given the confederate flag a bad rap it really doesn't deserve.

Not necessarily. I used to display it because to me it represents a Southern heritage and a symbol that you cannot change a persons mind or a regional pride by beating them into submission. I don't display it anymore because it is seen as a racist symbol and I don't want people to think I am racist.

Absolutely NOT!
I love the Battle Flag, and I have a lot of black friends. They don't subscribe to the liberal nonsense, and they don't have a problem with it. My black friends have BRAINS!

I'm proud of the part Texas played in the civil war. Besides...it's a beautiful flag.

Maybe someday I'll move to Texas. So far I've liked most of the Texans I've meet. I like Memphis Style BBQ better though.
