Seadoo engine ran last year now told has hole in crankcase. Could it have run last year with this hole?

It is possible that the Seadoo engine ran last year with a hole in it. Chances are that the hole started out small and has been expanding over time. This is why the engine needs lots of service to ensure that holes and other disparities are detected.
