What is the best way to learn how to Use words like fire to defend yourself?

I'm the person who is nice but I've realized that I have been through so much and most of it was because I was too nice and never stood up for myself. the truth is I don't even know how to use words to defend myself. please help! I want to basically let ppl understand that they can't walk over me

You can let them know that you don't appreciate their treatment of you by saying something like, "It doesn't say "Welcome" on my forehead, so don't think you can walk all over me". Or, "Clearly you've mistaken me for someone who values your opinion" is one of my favorites if I really don't care what they think.

Figure out what the person doesn't like about themselves, then use it against them.
