The Follicle Stimulating Hormone and the Luteinizing Hormone, also known as Interstitial Cell-Stimulating Hormone are referred to as gonadotropins because they produce proteins. These proteins regulate normal growth, and the sexual and reproductive development of a person. The two hormones are produced by the frontal pituitary gland.
