Their mystique is intriguing.
Maybe because of the ideas of vampires shown in Twilight and The Vampire Diaries. These ideas of the undead have gotten to peoples heads and they idolize them, not as demonic creatures but as powerful, sexy, and strong guardians.

lol, I have no idea! I think that what people have already said pretty much covers society's feeling about it, even if it seems silly. It's something different and mysterious.
Besides that, maybe part of it is that some people are intrigued by the idea of masochism. For those people, it may play into the rape fantasy that some people have. As in, getting over-powered and subdued into submission where a part of their body is invaded. See what I mean?

because the idea or thought of having the power to use mind control,run super fast,grow sharp fangs in the blink of the average eye,having colored eyes,and being able to take down an entire swat team with out thinking about it is very intriguing

In actuality? No, actually THEY DON'T EXIST! Hahaha but I get your point. It's simple, the movie makers know that young minds are very impressionable, so they force this crap on the kids and they just eat it up, and the filmmakers laugh all the way to the bank. Vampires are the "boybands" on the movie industry.
I like them because of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Most are evil, but a few have redeemed themselves, but they can still be bad at times. It's in their nature. No Twilight for this girl. Buffy could kick Edward's sparkly a$$. I have read Twilight though back when I didn't know better and I hate to start and not finish a book or series.
