Why is it that when one fixes his or her eyes on the sun or on a full bright light after some while tears begin to gush out from one`s eyes?

The eyes are trying to protect themselves. Since they can't move without the person moving them they're doing what they can to protect themselves. In meantime permanent damage is being done to them. Keep looking at the sun or bright light and person won't have to worry about looking at anything again.

Tears gush out of eyes when one fixes his or her eyes on the sun or on a full bright light because the retina of the eye gets burned and this causes damage to the eye. Check out http://www.brightenyourlife.info/ch7.html for more information.
