You would have to see what the requirements were for submission for the particular journal, but submission of your work to the appropriate peer-reviewed journal seems like the right direction to start in. If your work isn't up to their standards for whatever reason, they should give an indication as to why that is in their rejection letter. And if they accept your publication, well, goal accomplished.
You should find an institution that would help you?present your new scientific discoveries. You may need a place where you will need equipments and support to propel your discovery. Make sure that you patent your discovery before signing any contracts.
