Your question assumes that there is a divine purpose in life. Many, MANY people do not even believe in your basic assumption. So you are asking why someone would not want to know about something that does not even exist for them.
because a lot of people are afraid of what it might be. they don't want it to be something they hate. or they'd rather be able to for sure pick their own corse. we tend to be afraid of things we don't know about for sure.
Regardless of whether an individual believes in a divine purpose, or in a God, or an after life, everyone wants to do well in life and there's nothing wrong with that. It's your life, live it fully, live it happily, succeed, be the best person you can be, on your own terms. That is your purpose, whether you call it 'divine' or not. :)
Really you dont know your purpose in life it just comes to you naturally you dont automatically know why your on this earth you got to live your life and live it your way stop worrying about other people!!! Each and Every person is different and have different beliefs
Careless? Tell me, how can I be "careless" when I struggle every day to find a purpose to continue living other than to protect my cat. I've struggled with this for almost 4 years now. I still haven't found it.
