How can I fix my AOL account when it's sending spam to people from my account?

My AOL e-mail account is sending "No subject" e-mails to people in my contacts list. It sends them a link when I am not the one sending it.

Change your password. You can also delete your contacts list for about two weeks then update it. If they hack into your account and don't find any contacts then they can't use it.

I think you should try changing your security questions and your password, which will lock out the hacker that has been using your email account. You can also scan you're your computer and your email to see if there are any viruses, which might be causing the problem.

You have a virus. I had that too on my yahoo account-I had to close it & start using an account on gmail in order to prevent further issues. My security system CAN'T track the virus down. I DID print out all the addresses from yahoo account so I at least still have those. If you go on Facebook, you're bound to get viruses, & NEVER open an email, even from a friend, if it says no subject or something else that you know your friend wouldn't say as a subject line!

I had the same problem. Emails to all my contacts that I never sent and so on. The only thing that worked for me was to delete all my AOL contacts. I did use the same contacts on Gmail and even kept an AOL user name there that you can send from but I don't. All my email comes from Gmail, you choose which ID you want to use for your out-going mail. Uninstall AOL from you PC, and if just HAVE to go there, go with your browser using AOL.COM. Worked for me!
