Why is it ok for people to not support gays but it's not ok to make statement like that about race or weight?

it just seems double sided

It's not okay to judge anyone for any reason. Whether it's because they are obese, white or transgender. Discrimination is wrong. There are always going to be people who don't support gays, or different races, or obese people, but no matter what it is WRONG.

Most people view it as a moral issue, due to the fact that a persons sexuality is the issue. whereas the other issues are not. I however believe that all these issues should be treated with the same respect.

Obesity is a moral issue too. Considering gluttony is one of the 7 deadly sins. No matter how you look at it, "judging" someone is also a moral issue. Not to mention, it's the "gay" persons morality on the line, not the person who is judging them.

if ones are fat then their fat and if gay then they are gay it is not that anyone is judging them it is what it is .

I understand what you are saying and I agree with you, but unfortunately due to people considering it about a person's sexuality gay people don't get the respect that they deserve.
Report as
Yes alva it is what it is but why the need to discriminate against them? A person being gay or fat doesn't effect you personally.

Also a person should never state their opinions as facts. Take ownership of your views.

Alva, nambys have nothing to do with the gay issue. The HUGE difference is consenting adults.
Be proud of your opinion, just remember others get to judge you too.

Typically, it's children who hate for anyone's lifestyle to be judged. When you actually have to make decisions on your lifestyle, make hard choices, and have seen the consequences of those choices, you are entitled to have an informed and mature opinion on sexual orientation and the positive or negative value for society. Until then, I am not impressed by black-white judgments as they lack the context of experience.

It's okay for you to feel however you want about whomever you want. Just realize that if ever you choose to act on any of your feelings, then you have to live with the consequences of your action. There will always be people telling you how you have to think, but the fact is, nobody has authority to impose their views on you. Laws may require to act a certain way or punish you for acting outside of what is considered socially acceptable, but the law can not control your feelings and views and opinions. In fact, those views, opinons and feelings are protected.
It is only the initolerant that reject people that have different people than themselves (Though they call themselves the tolerant).
