How do you make a homemade sponge violin shoulder rest?
You need to cut about 8 inches thick felt and lay it on the back of your violin. Fold a small towel and chin over the chin and bottom of your violin and hold it in place as you play. You can just get a giant sponge ( the ones for washing cars) and use one of those electric meat saws ( or what I like to call chainsaws for food). Using the saw cut out a place for your shoulder! It totally works too!
