No. When I was that age I used to watch the kids shows like Sesame Street, and Miss Judy. Along with Reading Rainbow. I know I am dating myself with those shows, but they were wonderful teaching tools, and I now have a love of books (real with paper and ink, not a program that shows up on a screen and is turned into words) because of them.
No. There's nothing wrong with letting young children watch TV. As long as they are not watching shows that are improper for their ages, it is fine. All of my kids have watched TV as soon as they could focus their little eyes. All of my children are wise beyond their years. It's up to the parent to choose appropriate programing for the children. Educational learning shows actually inspire them to learn through having fun. Choose wisely is all I can say!
