Say tht u failed in school and ur very dissapointed in ur self and next year u will try harder and ur rlly sorry

Be truthful don't hide it cause it will get worse and worse the longer you wait just tell them you promise to try harder and maybe get a tutor or something that could help u improve your grades

Be honest with them. Even if they react horribly, you can know that you did the right thing by being upfront with them. I don't know if you mean you failed a class, a grade, or what. But if it's just something that will hold you back or lower your grade, then try better and stay focused. Tell them you want to do better, and then live up to that.

Tell them to sit down and say you have something to tell them. You are very disappointed in yourself and tried your hardest to make it but you failed. Hope I helped and it all works out. Tell them sooner then later
