Get a sugar glider, they are freaking adorable!!

I would recommend a smaller animal such as a hamster or a mouse because ferrets need dust baths and sugar gliders seem like they need a ton of room. Hamsters and mice eat very little, need very little maintenance, and can be extremely rewarding. Set up for a hamster is $200 on the extreme high end then all you need is bedding, food, and possibly a new ball. I'd recommend a sugar glider though.

Ferrets have very nasty smelling stink glands, if you do not get them removed the animal will stink the whole house up. Get a Sugar glider :)

Ferrets are quick little buggers (<,< I've had them and They kept stealing my socks DX) that like to hide things, (Like socks) and stay hidden. They need to be let out for some excercise, so if you're rooms are crowded and they can slip under the furniture.
I used to have a ferret, I <3 them!! So yeah you should go with the Ferret!

Ferret!!! They do have an odor so I recommend handling one first to see if you are ok with the smell. Sugar gliders are way too high maintenance if you are properly taking care of them and giving them all the insects, protein powders, nectar, fresh fruits and vegetables that they are supposed to have daily. Ferrets just need a high protein ferret diet and water and exercise.
Ferret! They're less expensive, need less space, and are tamer. Sugar Gliders fly and need tons of space. Plus they're rarer, so they're harder to find. Ferrets are sold at PetCo. If you don't want that smell, make sure your ferret is spayed/neutered with the scent glands removed. Sugar Gliders can smell, too.

This dude I know has a sugar glider and it was SO* cute! However, so are ferrets. Ferrets stink though... So really, I was no help. Lol
I would say a ferret. You can get there stink removed and you can play with them outside and stuff.
Ferrets are more social. But if you really want a nice pet then get a rat or a Guinea pig! A rat may seem grose but trust me, they arent! They are extremely social and love to be played with. And a Guinea pig really gets to bond with his human friend... Very loving :) Hope this helped...... <3
