What shade of hair dye should i use to be sure my hair really lightens without having to bleach it?

my hair is medium/dark brown and i want to dye it a strawberry blonde/red...i dye my hair at home and it needs to be inexpensive!

You could just mix peroxide, lemon juice, a little bit of water, and a tiny bit of baking soda.
Just put the mixture on your hair and go out in the sun for a little while, and your hair should get lighter.

use a lightening shampoo. i found bleaching or lightening my hair from a dark brown it always turned orange
