Why wont Terraria take my IP address?

I can't figure it out and me and my friend want to play in the same world...

You might be inputting the right IP address but with the wrong set of instructions. In the IP Address box, besides where you type the IP address is a box, input 100 and not 1 for it to accept the IP adress. LogMeIn's Hamachi should easily allow multiplayer. It worked for me.

For me after I forwarded the port 7777 my friends could get on with my ip (to find it just search "what's my ip" in google) just make Shure your port is forwarded and your firewall is setup to allow java

That's the way we first tried what did you mean by that last part though about make sure to...?

If you have experience running servers before then you may have gotten a notice when starting up the server that java needs permission to change some files this basically makes it so that specific program can be accessed through other people aka joining your game, if this didn't show up you best search how to do it (although I don't know what you would search)

My big problem is we type the numbers in and it never finishes "connecting" but somehow did the same thing with my brothers game and it worked first try but yet hasn't worked for me or my friend Gabe
