How much money would you get if you're unemployed and apply for a pell grant?

Report as

Each year the Department of Education awards millions of dollars in Pell Grants. The awards are based on income and usually if you make less than $50,000 annually, you may qualify. Since funding is based on income, if you are unemployed, you will probably qualify for the maximum amount--which according to www.fafsa.gov website is $5,500 for the 2010-2011 academic school year.

Thanks, I applied once and didn't qualify, but I have to quit my job when I start nursing school in January. They said I could fill out a special circumstances form, just wondering how much it might effect my eligibility.
