Does my roof need to be replaced?
I have a standing seam metal roof. When the roofer put it on, he did not put any type of vapor barrier between the old shingles and the new metal roof. I'm now trying to sell my house and the people who just put an offer in say that the roof has to be replaced because it was done incorrectly. The roof doesn't leak, there is no moisture in the attic, and the metal roof itself is only three years old. These buyers are wanting me to knock 12-15k off the price of my home so they can replace the roof. Up until they mentioned it, I thought the roof was a selling point, not a detractor. Is this a real issue, or just some fluff from a home buyer?
