Do i need a real estate license to be a developer?

A developer is somebody who coordinates all the aspects of developing a property . If you plan on turning a profit then you will eventually have to have a business license to be in business . As to whether or not there is some developers license issued by the state there is not . Your license to be a developer is the cash baby that you got with your $2 million credit line . Cash is the only license you need . If you were doing business without a license and somebody came along and complained . You just use the cash baby to hire a lawyer and get you out of it . Cash is the license for a developer . Cash baby !

Whether you need a license to be a real estate developer depends on state laws, although most states don't require a license. In Chicago, however, you will need a Residential Real Estate Developer License, which is required for developers of all residential projects. Check your state's laws on the same.
