To be honest, you need a comprehensive plan to get fast & real result. I'm using http://goo.gl/n3Ryt9 at the moment and it works great. For your question, just doing push-ups or pull-ups won't cut it, you need to work on your whole body & focus on your nutrition.
The trick with push ups. Work up to where your doing inclined push ups. Elevate your feet on a chair and move your hand position on the floor. Wide apart, sholder width, and close together where your thumbs are touching.
You shouldn't do consecutive push ups like that. If you don't allow for the muscles to heal or grow back in, you probably won't see much of a result. Your body needs time for muscle to grow in. Try doing 100 push ups every other day for a month.
Yeah but do them in sets. And start out with like 50 and go from there, it's bad on your wrists to do that many pushups out of nowhere. And I bet you will be able to see and feel and difference in your body :) also try sit ups and 6 inches and other core exersises and you will notice a difference in that too! And drink plenty of water! Good luck! :)
