Pineapples are natures 'pain medication'. The pineapple is loaded with Bromelain. This is a natural pain reducer and also helps with stomach issues. Pineapples are loaded with vitamin C and are great in a pineapple upside-down cake!

Hello WhoKnowsIt, I will take a little bit different approach here than the well-known delicious eating of this wonderful fruit...
Because pineapple contains the proteolytic enzyme bromelain, and I think it helps my digestion! That is - proteolytic - it helps you digest proteins. In other words, don't put fresh or frozen pineapple in your Jello salad, because it will digest the Jello...
I saw on the Internet some people are even using pineapple juice in their marinade for tough steaks and meat. Also here is a link that tells how to use it in a facial masque; the enzymes "soften and heal the skin, (and) fight free-radical damage and are known to reduce age spots and fine lines and leave the skin supple. They also cleanse the skin by dissolving dead cells from the skin’s surface."
Where I live, pineapples are so abundant that people eat this for their snacks, not just desserts. It is believed that fresh pineapple juice helps reduce cholesterol and high blood pressure. People also mix pineapple bits to many, many daily dishes.
Also, the biggest pineapple plantation in the world is in the Philippines. not in Hawaii.
