What barrel length should I get on my .357 magnum?

I plan on buying a S&W 686 and can't decide what barrel length I want. It will be a backup gun during hog hunts and a home defense gun too. I also am wondering if I should get the plus model or the regular? Thanks!

If you plan to conceal carry this weapon, a 4" will be considerably more comfortable to sit in a car with.
