Fire works are illegal in New Jersey because they can be harmful to people around. Fireworks could result to serious burn or set clothing on fire. However, you can still own some but only after you get a permit which is approved by the local fire department.

They are a fire hazard, as in forest/structure, as well as individual. I live in Nevada where fireworks are illegal in the whole state due to the extremely dry conditions, but I can drive 30 min. away to the Indian reservation and buy all I want!
