If putting an iphone in rice after its been dropped in the pool , work again ?

my dad fell in the pool yesterday fully clothed and had his phone in his pocket and its been in a ziploc full of rice since then. he's very sad right now. how long do we leave it in rice ? should we just get another one ? he has no insurance on it

Don't close the Ziploc bag. This will let the moisture out. Then, quick - get your dad in an AA program as quickly as possible!
