How often do you put gloves in your automobile glove box? why?

Report as

'glove box' is an antiquated hold over from the earliest days of automated vehicles. In those days motor vehicles were all open to the elements and dudnt have wind shields. In those days people (mostly rich because no one else could afford a 'car') wore actual driving 'costumes' consisting of a long overcoat goggles and gloves. Gloves were very much part of the wealthy costume when in public at that time anyway. The 'glove box' was literally a space to store ones driving gloves and goggles as well as ones dress gloves for later. The name has hung on tho few actually store gloves there any longer.

In the old days when we did not have heat in cars, we would keep leather driving gloves in the "glove box" to keep our hands warm
