Try doing more like 10 per hour or something along that. If your trying to get a 6 pack, I do about 200 a day.

No, not significantly. do around 30 a day, for a week, then increase by 10 every week.
Also doing a variety of different exercises, like jogging, push ups and stretches will improve over all fitness, and get you able to do even more sit ups per day. Though more than 200 sit ups every day will give you back problems, a variation in the types of sit ups you do is suggested, if not necessary, if you wish to decrease in stomach mass and stay fit without back problems.

A new study shows that sit ups can make your stomach bulge. If you go on DoctorOz.com or something i think they have better exercises there.Thats where i learned this. So no, it does not help. Crunches do help, but not very well.
