Is a license required to hunt snapping turtles?

Lehigh County, PA. Shares environment with critically endangered Bog turtle. Private property.

All you need is a 3" thick by 3-4' long stick, put it in front of their mouth and they will clamp down on it. Pull it out of the water and you have your turtle.

Only fingers, but that won't be an issue for me anyway. I won't go near one until it's dead.

A small game hunting license is necessary to take snapping turtles. The only legal implement for taking snapping turtles is a firearm or a bow. If you decide to consume snapping turtles, you should carefully remove fat, liver, and eggs before cooking to decrease contact with contaminants.
