Illegal, could be questionable but as mentioned, it could be stolen in which case, yes, illegal. If it was lost, then not illegal just someone's extreme misfortune. Most police departments have something in place for turning in such found items and if it isn't part of a crime or isn't reported based on the location in which you found it after a certain period of time, they give it back the the person who turned it in.
I can't believe it, you found my money! Where can we meet so I can get it back.... LMFAO The honest thing to do would be to turn it in to the police department and if nobody claims it after 90 days it becomes your property. THERE ISN'T TOO MANY HONEST PEOPLE THESE DAYS THO....
NO IT IS NOT! Where is your moral compass? If you were taking that kind of money from point a to point b and you dropped the bag or left it somewhere would you not want an honest person to find it so you could get it back?
I agree with noname but I have a question..If you find money or anything ..no matter where..and you don't have a clue where it came from, wouldn't it be wiser to just call the police and tell them you have found money/or whatever [jewelry] and if necessary tell them the location? Then, tell them YOU will keep it unless the police locate the owner. I have a feeling that even the law can be tempted. Just wondering. If I found the money, I would want it to get back to the owner, but I would probably handle it as I mentioned.Honesty is the way to go tho.
No I believe everything happens for a reason. We have often prayed for money to pay a bill then days later the money came from a relative or ended up finding it while out on an evening walk. I once gave a homeless man my lunch then walked about a hundred yards and found teenty dollars in a parking lot
