I can't sleep!! Someone help give me ideas to help me!!

thanks! ohh and NO I don't have a sleeping problem or anything, just can't seem to fall asleep tonight!! any ideas?

If you have a ipod download the app Pandora and select the easy listening radio,turn off all the lights,turn the easy listening radio on and get comfortable bet youll fall asleep.

Lay still. Breathe deep. And feel your heart in your chest. Try to slow the beats. Then when they are slow just lay still and drift off.

Drink warm milk, put on music, then wait tell the milk kicks in. I would drink warm milk but my mom is downstairs and she thinks I'm sleeping because I have work tomorrow... Maybe I should go to sleep

Turn off TV, radio (except maybe classical), etc. Lay down comfortably, close your eyes, and daydream about peaceful things. That helps me.

Stop thinking, thinking about random things, the things you did today, things you plan to do tomorrow etc. thinking is putting your brain to work, relax your mind think about rest and relax your body, if your gonna think about something, think sleep, sleep sleep over and over ;) gnite p.s music helps too but something soft and calming

Tidy up your room a little bit? A clean, neat room helps me sleep better. But do it quietly. No jumping up & down on the bed to dust the ceiling fan.

Find the most boring book in your house and read it eventually you will get so bored you'll fall asleep or go on YouTube and find a really long and boring lecture

I listen to music, but not classical, slow or anything like that. I listen to my favorite artists, (lady gaga) and it just relaxes me.

All of the advice above suggests setting the mood for sleep, but if you're not tired or you have a lot of things going on (in your mind) you might not be ready for sleep. Make sure you are ready by exercising to remove the stress and tension the day may have built up. Then remove the distractions of life (iPhone, computer, iPad, whatever is keeping your mind reeling). Then find a comfortable place to sleep. Perhaps reading will help focus your mind to the point where you can relax and drift off. If that doesn't work, read this email over and over and over and over and over (you are getting very sleepy)...

Listen to soft music, or drink warm milk, or listen to a fan, and maybe you could use one of those noise makers that makes soothing sounds. (ex- waves crashing on the shore, rain)

Start daydreaming. Make up a story with you and your favorite movie star. Like, for example, pretend you're in an episode or the movie they were in. Trust me, it's a lot better with your eyes clothes and you're in silence. You'll fall asleep and you won't even realize it! It works for me every time. :)

Before you go to sleep take a nice long shower and shampoo your hair. After showering drink a nice cold glass of milk.

In order to get tired and fall asleep, I get up an hour before I need to.
This is beneficial too in that I can get some things done that I would have to later in the day or evening. Also, drinking warm milk helps.

I say warm milk, like alot of other people answering this question but it makes it a bit more tasty if you put in a few drops of vanilla. Also works for stomach aches, for anyone who wants to know. :)
