I would suggest having the party at a bowling alley, which are great for casual birthday parties. You should first inquire to reserve a private room for food and presents, simply because bowling alleys frequently have such facilities.

Under a shelter at a park or forest preserve gives a place for kids to play and a place for adults to hang out and chit-chat. Be warned, you might have to reserve the shelter and there might be a fee.
