Is it bad luck to wear a wedding dress for an event other than when you are a bride at your wedding?

I keep on hearing things about it being "ok" versus "not ok"... I'm not sure I buy into superstitions anyway, but just curious. ;)

Many debutantes wear what appears to be wedding dresses for their parties so I think it would be okay

I have an answer for this, but I'm just trying to figure out why else you would wear one...

Wear it for Halloween, a themed event, or as a bridal fashion model. Anything where you are wearing a dress intended for bridal wear but isn't your special wedding day. Where does the superstition take effect? :P

I'm settling this debate with a friend.

I would say, if it's not YOUR wedding dress, or if you alter it to look different, silly, scary, you're in the clear. Otherwise, the hobgoblins are coming... lol.

Oh no, just fun secondhand "costume" wedding dresses which were once the real bridal stuff for someone... just not me!

My friend says I am S.O.L. and will remain an old maid due to my abuse of wedding dresses worn in public! Oh my! lol

omg, I would love to get my hands on a poofy old thing and do Bride of Frankenstine for halloween. I've personally known people who have done this and are still living and breathing... but for how long? lol. time shall tell.

I don't think so. Just think what a great conversation piece it could be while out on the town.
